Here is a thing I did not expect to be saying in 2026. We are spoiled for riches. Two different companies now have models that can each take a short prompt and hand you a real, working piece of custom software in under two hours. That was science fiction not long ago, and now it is a Tuesday. Yes, one of them tends to move a little faster than the other, and eventually you will land on a favorite. But the more interesting move is not to pick a side. It is to use both on purpose. When two strong models attack the same problem, they show you genuinely different takes on the solution space, and seeing those side by side makes you sharper about what you actually want. You come out smarter than you would with either one alone. It is like Godzilla versus Megalodon. Whoever wins, the audience does. I ran a simple experiment. One prompt, the same brief, handed to two different models, and I sat back to see what each would build. The task was the copy-paste problem everyone lives with, and what came back genuinely surprised me. Fable built a thing called Ledge. A narrow list that slides in from the right edge of the screen, tight and out of the way. Astra went a completely different direction and built Shelf, a wide bar across the bottom with big cards and a preview pane, much more visual. Same brief, same amount of time, and both came back with a real, functional, genuinely good app. Not a demo, not a toy, something I could actually use. That is the part that got me. Two models, one sentence of instruction, and two coherent products that just happen to disagree about what the answer should look like.
