NodeGX community meet-up #1 - Presenting the alpha release
August 14, 2026
In our first community meetup, I'm presenting version 0.1.7 alpha, including the MCP server, the internal AI builder, the 'visual function' node (Blockly editor), and more. We test a bunch of features, surface a bunch of bugs, and generally have a great discussion about the future of Noodl and NodeGX for visual AI-assisted app building. I'm looking for testers. This is an early alpha — things will break, feedback is genuinely wanted, and the best way to shape where this goes is to try it and tell me what's wrong. ✔ Full change list: https://claude.ai/code/artifact/35dd9e33-52cc-4bc2-b63e-cea797f71ab1?via=auto_preview 🔗 Download / try it: https://github.com/The-Low-Code-Foundation/NodeGX/releases 🐛 Report issues: https://github.com/The-Low-Code-Foundation/NodeGX/issues or use the ? at the bottom right of the editor 💬 Discuss / ask questions: https://discord.gg/dZw4w5pKf9 If you built things in the original Noodl, your instincts will mostly transfer — but there are real differences worth knowing before you dive in, covered in this video. Noodl is back — First look at the new editor (NodeGX Alpha)
August 7, 2026
Noodl is back — this time as an open-source, community-driven editor called NodeGX. If you used Noodl before, this 30-minute tour walks through what's changed, what's stayed the same, and why now's the time to kick the tires. I'm looking for testers. This is an early alpha — things will break, feedback is genuinely wanted, and the best way to shape where this goes is to try it and tell me what's wrong. ✔ Full change list: https://claude.ai/code/artifact/35dd9e33-52cc-4bc2-b63e-cea797f71ab1?via=auto_preview 🔗 Download / try it: https://github.com/The-Low-Code-Foundation/NodeGX/releases 🐛 Report issues: https://github.com/The-Low-Code-Foundation/NodeGX/issues or use the ? at the bottom right of the editor 💬 Discuss / ask questions: https://discord.gg/dZw4w5pKf9 Timestamps: 00:00 Why NodeGX, and what happened to Noodl 02:41 New project launcher 03:52 Creating a project 04:42 Editor visual updates 05:57 AI builder in the editor 07:49 New build-in back end 11:38 Back-end workflows and cloud functions 13:37 Demoing node canvas changes 17:22 Demoing node execution inspector 19:28 Better port mapping 20:14 Project settings panel & MCP 24:28 New deployment options (SSR, cloud hosting) 26:27 Project JSON overhaul 28:54 New and fixed nodes 32:08 Calling all testers If you built things in the original Noodl, your instincts will mostly transfer — but there are real differences worth knowing before you dive in, covered in this video. Is your data spineless? Introduction to the data spine: a central source of truth for events
July 1, 2026
Do you use multiple tech suppliers in your event? One company for registration, one for exhibitors, one for sales, one for sessions. Data lives in multiple places, and trying to consolidate CSV exports is making your life a mistery. Enter the 'data spine', a concept I've developed at Visual Hive to centralise, sanitise and organise data from any number of suppliers, enabling event organisers to have a true picture of what happened at their event, not to mention creating data analytics and data products. Using Claude to solve everything #2 - Building a home-grown app with no tech experience
June 30, 2026
Anybody can create their own custom apps and services today, with no technical experience other than knowing how to download and install software (VSCode and Docker Desktop in this case) and how to type on a keyboard. I'll show you from end to end how I did this without applying any technical or developer knowledge to build my own weather prediction app to track heatwaves down here in south-west France. If you like what you see and you need AI help, advice, training or consulting, get in touch with my company Visual Hive: https://visualhive.co Come find out more about me: https://www.linkedin.com/in/richard-osborne-28b9042a3
